If you love pudding, then the dessert flavor trinity wasn’t vanilla, chocolate and strawberry but vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch.

This pudding has that marvelous real butterscotch flavor you just can’t get from a boxed mix.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar

Method

  1. Rinse a heavy nonreactive saucepan with cold water, and shake out the excess water (this helps prevent the milk from scorching). Bring 2½ cups of the milk nearly to a boil.
