This recipe is from my friend Florence Donovan, whose care keeps my baking teacher and “adopted godfather” Carlo Bussetti going strong. Florence keeps telling me that these dumplings are “nothing special,” but the first time I made them, they disappeared before any other dessert. They’re good-looking and tasty.
