Growing up with a single mom meant at times we didn’t have much, but our bellies were always full and warm, as there were always frijoles (beans) and corn masa in our house. This recipe brings me back to those times. I hope you can taste the love in these simple yet delicious dumplings.

This is a great recipe to involve the children in, as their little fingers make the perfect indentations the masa balls need to cook through evenly.
