  • About

Sangre means “blood” in Spanish, hence the name of this time-honored party drink. You can really use any type of wine and fruit; it’s all good.

Ingredients

  • 2 750-ml bottles dry red wine, such as Rioja
  • 1 cup brandy

Method

Combine the wine, brandy, orange juice, and sugar in a large pitcher. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Mix in the fruit. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or up to overnight. Add the club soda just before serving. Pour into glasses filled with ice.
