One of the great classic cooling drinks - at its best served out of doors as the sun goes down. The distinctive flavours of mint and whisky complement each other deliciously.
The easiest way to make the crushed ice is to place ice cubes in a plastic bag on a solid surface and crush with a rolling pin. Divide the crushed ice between 2 whisky glasses. Add the sugar and mint and pour in the whisky. Stir briskly and serve when the glass is frosted, with more ice if liked and garnished with a sprig of mint.
