The base mix of nuts, seeds and spices for this granola is the same as for the muesli on the opposite page, so why not make a big batch of that, then have it on hand for when you want to serve either recipe.

Preheat the oven to 150°C/300°F/gas mark 2. Line a large baking sheet with greaseproof paper.

Warm the oil, syrup and salt in a saucepan over a gentle heat until they have melted together, then remove from the heat.
