This simple yet luxurious dish is a favourite in my home and one we love to eat on special occasions. It’s so rich and delicious that it needs little to accompany it, allowing the glorious creamy gratin to speak for itself. If you want to make a special meal of it, it’s great served after a fresh leafy green salad as a first course, with a refreshing sorbet, such as raspberry, to finish.
