I feel guilty. A lot of my favorite recipes are the hardest to pull off. But there are always simpler versions to be found and they’re usually just as likable. Seen as a pair, this dish and the one preceding it prove my point. If the last salad was a straightforward reinterpretation of a classic, this is its more complex counterpart. It relies on the same thematic trio—crab, grapefruit, and avocado—but now the crab is the only recognizable ingredient.
