Coffee Cake, Mascarpone and Vanilla Cream

My mother makes this cake for me every year around Christmas time and over the years it has become my all-time favourite. It is a bit tiramisu-like but simpler to prepare. I think it’s utterly delicious and why it’s been confined to an outing once a year, I have no idea!
