Mrs Rundle (1807) (spelt Rundell in later editions) has a recipe for Benton Sauce which I have found nowhere else and which is very good.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. (60 g.) horseradish, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon made mustard

Method

Stir well and allow to stand an hour or two.
