Sardines on Toast

Ingredients

Per person

  • 1 medium-sized sardine
  • 1 strip of hot buttered toast, 1 × 3 in. (2 × 6 cm.)
  • 1 oz. (30 g.) butter
  • cayenne

Method

Keep the strips of toast hot while you place the sardines under a hot grill turning them once and grilling for 1 minute on each side. Place one on each strip of toast. Sprinkle with cayenne and serve very hot.
