This cake is an example of a high-ratio cake, in which the dry ingredients are combined with the butter and the liquid is added last. This is a delicious cake, rich and buttery yet still light.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter a 9-inch round cake pan. Coat the pan with flour, tapping out the excess.
In a mixing bowl or large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powd
