This cookie was popular when I was a child. Those were industrially made; these, baked at home, are even better. They’re perfect cookie jar cookies because they stay really crisp if you keep them stored airtight.

Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon

Method

  1. In a bowl combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; stir well to mix.
  2. In the bowl of a standing electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the butter and sugar on medium speed for about a minute. Beat in the egg yolks, one at a time, beating smooth after each addition.
  3. Stop the mixer and scrape the bowl
