Vanilla Pretzels

There are various types of cookie pretzels, many of which contain ground nuts and are variations on Wiener Mandelgipferl. This recipe makes a more cakey type of cookie, easier to form into the characteristic pretzel shape. These cookies have the further advantage of being tender and sweet, a perfect cookie to dunk in coffee.
