This another recipe from Darenne and Duval, probably of ancient origin from the name oublie, much used in the Middle Ages. The literal meaning of oublie is “forget” or “forgotten” and may derive from the fact that these wafers were sold outside churches to penitents who hoped their sins would be forgiven and forgotten.
