“This flavour combination I will forever associate with my mum. As a child I didn’t like fruit cakes so she made up a new recipe using chocolate, apricots and hazelnuts instead of dried fruit. It was delicious and we had it for our Christmas cake and even my wedding cake, which Mum crafted botanically-correct sugar craft flowers for and it was a masterpiece.
