Place the potatoes in a bowl and add the salt, then rub them well with your hands, scrubbing the skins until the potatoes are well salted. Transfer to a large saucepan of water, add the lovage and bring to the boil. Cook until tender to the bite, but still slightly firm. Drain and return to the pan to steam dry. Slice large potatoes in half and leave small ones whole. Season and serve warm or c
