Ingredients

  • 100 g sifted icing sugar
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp

Method

Mix together the sifted icing sugar and butter until smooth. Beat in the lemon juice and vanilla extract and serve. Alternatively flavour with liqueurs, citrus rind, coffee essence or cocoa to taste.

Creaming the buttercream Cream equal quantities of unsalted butter and icing sugar until very soft, pale and fluffy.
