A sweet pastry case is filled to overflowing with a mélange of caramelized fruit pieces and nuts. This delicious filling is held in place by a nut-flaked nougat ring with a hole in the centre into which slices of fresh fruit are decoratively placed.

Method

  1. First prepare the sweet pastry. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until it resembles fine breadcrumbs, then mix in the salt, sugar and finally the egg and vanilla essence.
