Childhood taste memories form many of our enduring desires and fantasies about food. We all remember growing up with chocolate crackles, don’t we – that special treat which defined any kid’s birthday party? Time-travel to the future and this comfort food memory has morphed into an adult version I make in summer, when cherries and blackberries are in season. The crunchy chocolate rice crisps, teased with the melt-in-your-mouth zingy ginger granita, is my idea of utter bliss.
