A dense cake that remains moist for a few days after baking. Sometimes I just coat the cake with chocolate ganache and serve it otherwise unadorned. Other times, I might cut it into small squares, cut each square through the centre and sandwich the halves together with a jam preserve, then spread the top with buttercream icing. The cake can also be served plain (add a dusting of icing sugar if you wish) with a fresh raspberry
