One of the very few ingredients I try to avoid fiddling with too much is this one. Mopani worms (or masonja) are actually a widely eaten staple in southern Africa.
The reason I avoid fiddling with them is that they have a unique taste that can be masked if you add too many other ingredients. You want the essence of the flavour to be the masonja themselves.
