This is a delicious, light side dish. The char from the grill adds interest to the fresh green vegetables, which get along very well with the flavours of chilli and lime.

Swap the melted butter for vegetable or coconut oil to make the dish vegan.


  • 300 g broccoli (1 small head), cut into medium florets
  • 150 g


  1. Heat your grill to high and line a wide baking tray with foil.
  2. Bring a large pan of lightly salted water to the boil. Add the broccoli florets, bring back to the boil and cook for 3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and pat dry with kitchen paper.
  3. Add the mangetout to the water, blanch for 1 minute then remove with a slotted spoon and pat dry.
