My favorite milk substitute for lattes is oat milk because it gets nice and frothy. Oatly is a good brand, but you can also make your own at home by blending oats with water.
In a small saucepan, warm the milk until it just barely begins to simmer. Stir in the maple syrup, turmeric, cardamom, and vanilla, then carefully transfer to a blender. Blend on high speed for 30 to 40 seconds until frothy (you can also use an electric milk frother if you have one). Pour the mixture into a mug, top with pepper and a little pinch of turmeric, if desired, and serve hot.
