I believe I developed this recipe for a contest sponsored by (you guessed it) Jack Daniel’s. I didn’t win, but I still like the tart. The approach is similar to the traditional linger torte: a fruit filling cooked until almost jammy, baked in a textured, nutty dough. Use any fruit you’d like, including dried apricots or pears, or golden raisins.
