This is a simple tart to make and it keeps very well. You can use any kind of nut you want—a combination of walnuts, pecans, and hazelnuts is great!

Crust

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter,

Method

To make the crust: In a food processor or by hand, combine the flour, butter, and vanilla. Pulse or cut until the dough resembles coarse oatmeal. If the dough is too dry, add a little ice water. Gather the dough into a ball and wrap well with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
