Place the cinnamon sticks and cloves on a square of cheesecloth and tie loosely to form a bag. In a small saucepan, combine the spice bag, wine, apricots, and honey. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring often.
Remove the spice bag and discard. Add the brandy, currants, and lemon zest and simmer for 2 minutes longer
