This can be made with or without the wine, as you choose. Both ginger and mint have extraordinary abilities to soothe the stomach and aid digestion. Ginger is also touted as a natural alternative to medicines for motion sickness. I just know that this tea makes me feel very good.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup thinly sliced fresh ginger
  • One 3-inch strip orange zest

Method

In a medium saucepan, combine the ginger, orange zest, lemon zest, cinnamon pieces, honey, wine, and water and bring to a simmer. Let the mixture steep over very low heat for 10 minutes. Add the mint leaves and steep for 10 minutes more. Strain carefully and serve hot or iced.
