Long Island is famous for a lot of things, and one of them is duck. In fact, the most popular species of duck in the United States is White Pekin, also known as Long Island duck. In the town of Flanders, there is a giant white duck monument that a farmer built in 1931. It is now a museum and one of the “Seven Wonders of Long Island.” (I’m not making this up.)
