Sonoran Hot Dogs

The Sonoran hot dog originated in the Mexican state of Sonora in the 1980s and is now sold by street cart vendors known as “dogueros” throughout the southwestern United States, particularly in Arizona. I tried as many versions of the Sonoran hot dog as I could on a family trip to Tucson, where nearly every street corner has a taco truck offering the city’s unofficial signature dish.
