Baked Apples


Remove the core from pippin apples using a corer or column cutter; cut a small incision through the skin around the middle of the apples.

Arrange them on a tray, fill the centre of each with a mixture of butter and caster sugar, add a little water to the tray and cook the apples gently in the oven.

Serve these apples as they are.
