Choose some nice strawberries, sprinkle them with caster sugar and macerate with Grand-Marnier for 1 hour, keeping them chilled.

When about to serve, cover the bottom of a glass bowl or silver timbale with a layer of orange ice to which the liquid from the maceration has been added; arrange the strawberries neatly on top.
