Cut a round piece from the stalk end of a small black Carmes melon. Remove the seeds and filaments from inside it, then remove the flesh with a spoon and sprinkle this with sugar.

Macerate sufficient wild strawberries with Lérina liqueur if wild strawberries are not available, use cultivated ones.

Fill the melon case with the prepared strawberries and melon; replace the top and chill it on ice for 2 hours.

When required for serving, present the melon on a serviette placed on a dish.
