Method

Mix together 5 dl (18 or U.S. cups) each of strawberry purée and syrup; add the juice of 2 lemons and 2 oranges.

Alternatively the mixture can be made by pounding 1 kg ( lbs) strawberries with 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) caster sugar then adding the juice of 2 oranges and 2 lemons and passing through a fine sieve. Add sufficient filtered water to bring the mixture to 16°–18°.
