Firstly, line the bottom and side of the bombe mould with the ice as indicated by its name. This lining, the thickness of which can vary according to the size of the mould, should preferably be a thin one and should be ordinary ice mixture rather than Bombe mixture; ice-cream lends itself to this use far better than anything else.
