Peel and core the apples and cut into tiny pieces. Pour the milk over them. Beat the eggs with the sugar and salt and add to the apples. Then gradually add the flour to the mixture, a little at a time. With a teaspoon, pick up bits of the dough/apple mixture and drop by spoonfuls into slightly salted boiling water. Test one to see if it is cooked –they are ready if they look dry inside when cut
