Method

Remove the cherry stones and place the cherries in an enamelled, china or glass vessel. Put the stones in another enamelled pan. Cover the cherries with sugar and allow to stand, covered, in the sun or a very warm place for 2-3 hours. Pour off the juice into a separate vessel and fill the vareniki with the drained cherry mixture.
