Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) pork or beef
  • 3 tablespoons lard

Method

Cut the pork or beef into 4-6 pieces. Heat the lard in a saucepan until bubbling, then fry the meat on all sides. Add the peppercorns, 2 onions and the garlic, finely chopped. Put more chopped onions and half the sliced cabbage and chopped-up ham on top. Next add a layer of onions and tomatoes, then the apples, then cabbage again, and finally the bay leaves and salt, and
