Method

First mix the butter or lard with the milk or cream and the egg yolks until the mixture turns white. Add the flour and a little water to this mixture, very gradually, stirring constantly. Next add the salt, spices and onion. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Then, using a wet teaspoon, scoop out half-spoonfuls of the dough and drop them gently into lightly salted boiling water –2 teaspoons salt fo
