Ingredients: 2 tbsp. finely chopped green onions; 1½ cups dry white beans; 1 cup chopped carrot; 2 cups chopped onions; 2 garlic cloves, minced; 1 cup chopped celery; ¼ tsp. salt; ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper; 2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil; 2 tbsp. diced red bell pepper; 8 cups chicken stock; 8 cups cold water; 2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme; 2 cups chopped kale; ½ tsp. dried marjoram; 1 tsp. fennel seeds, crushed (If you don’t have a mortar and pestle to crush the fennel seeds, roll your rolling pin over them to crush them.); 1 tbsp. olive oil; 2 tbsp. tomato paste
