Homemade teriyaki sauce is one of my hardest working sauces. It is far healthier than shop-bought versions, can be made in minutes and is ridiculously flexible as it works well with a plethora of proteins. Serve with noodles or rice and a green vegetable.

Ingredients

Protein Options

  • 4 x 150 g salmon fillets
  • Or 600 g chicken breasts, cut into strips

Method

Combine the salmon, chicken or tofu with all the teriyaki sauce ingredients except the oil. Leave to marinate for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Heat a pan and add the oil. Lift the salmon, chicken or tofu out of the marinade, reserving the rest.

Salmon

Cook the salmon for 2 minutes on each side. Add the teriyaki sauce to the pan and let it bubble
