Spiced Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 lb. cranberries
  • ΒΌ pint malt or white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 8 oz. sugar
  • Β½ teaspoon salt


Wash the berries and put into a saucepan with the vinegar. Cook gently until reduced to a pulp. Sieve and return to the pan with the spice, sugar and salt. Cook, stirring over a low heat until the mixture is thick. Turn into hot sterilized bottles and seal.
