Treacle Scones


  • 8 oz. plain flour
  • pinch salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 oz. butter
  • 1 oz. sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons black treacle


Sieve together the flour, salt and baking powder. Rub in the butter and add the sugar. Blend the milk and treacle and lightly mix with dry ingredients. Cut into triangles. Cook on a heated griddle for about 7 minutes on each side.
