  • 8 oz. plain flour
  • ¼ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ teaspo

Method

Sieve together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar and salt. Rub in the butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, then add sugar, sultanas and peel. Beat egg and add to the mixture with enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll out to a round about ½ inch thick on a floured working surf
