  • 3 oz. butter
  • 6 fl oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoo


Use a pan with a thick bottom. Melt the butter over gentle heat. Add the sugar, condensed milk and golden syrup, stirring very carefully all the time. Allow it to cook gently for about 15 minutes, until the mixture turns a pale brown colour. Then turn it into a well buttered tin, allow to cool. Mark into squares.
