Oxtail can be expensive so you can, if you wish, substitute with beef shin (osso bucco). If you don’t feel like going to the trouble of making ravioli, you can use this recipe simply to make delicious braised oxtail, served with mashed potatoes. But if you have the time and inclination to make this dish, it is very easy to follow each step, and you’ll reward your guests with a beautiful, stylish starter.
