  • About

From The Book of Household Management. Mrs Beeton says to make it about the first or second week of December. She gives another recipe that involves 375 g (½ lb) of lean beef; this one, however, contains suet but no meat.

Ingredients

  • 3 large lemons
  • 3 large apples
  • 500 g (1 lb

Method

Grate the rinds of the lemons; squeeze out the juice, strain it and boil the remainder of the lemons until tender enough to pulp or chop very finely. Bake the apples in a preheated 180°C (35O°F, gas mark 4) oven until very soft, 30-45 mins
