The crunch in these easy teatime bakemeats comes from the Golden Syrup and the oatmeal.

Ingredients

Method

Line with baking parchment or grease a baking sheet.

Cream the fats and sugar. Add syrup, boiling water and a drop of lavender essence. Stir in the flour and the oats. Roll into generous walnut-sized balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake at 160–180°C/325-350°F/gas mark 3–4 for 15 to 20 minutes. When cold, these can be iced with a lavender water ice, made by mixing sifted ic
