A good hamburger should taste like the sound of ‘Under the Boardwalk’, a great Rolling Stones song of the late sixties. Anyone found using frozen hamburgers will lose the status of Honorary Gastronaut that comes free with this book.

Ingredients

  • lb (700 g) beef, finely chopped rather than minced
  • 1 hard-boiled egg, finely chopped</

Method

Put all the ingredients, except for the barbecue sauce and the mustard, into a bowl and mix very thoroughly and roll into a ball. Now divide the ball into four smaller ones of equal size and with the palm of your hand flatten them to the desired thickness.
