  • 2 lb (1 kg) live grey shrimps

Method

Chuck everything in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour. Whizz in a liquidiser or food processor and pass through a fine sieve.

Serve hot with croutons fried in butter. Couldn’t be simpler!
